Motivated to inspire self-reliance and confidence in beauty care for foster and adoptive homes throughout the state of Michigan.
Founded in 2022 in Kalamazoo, MI, the Dream of Kalamazoo Foundation provides free beauty and wellness services, including hair and barbering, to youth in foster and adoptive systems in Kalamazoo and Calhoun County. We collaborate with local salons and barbershops to offer these essential services year-round.
Understanding that foster families come from diverse backgrounds, we assist with hair care, styling, and education. Our foundation aims to enhance the experiences of these youth by promoting cultural diversity, educating guardians and youth, supporting health and wellness, fostering self-reliance, encouraging family engagement, and aiding youth development.
Our mission is to empower young individuals by enhancing their beauty, self-esteem, and confidence.
Thank you for your generous support! Your contributions are essential in making a positive impact on the lives of children in the foster care and adoption system.

Very Knowledgeable
I am an adoptive mother of two black sons, I unfortunately do not have the knowledge or skills to provide them with proper hair care (other than articles I read).
